Tutor/Coordinator for the SI Program at LTH

Workplace Description
SI-PASS (Collaborative Learning / Peer Assisted Study Sessions) is a highly successful pedagogical model developed in the USA during the 1970s and has spread to many educational institutions worldwide, including several in Sweden.
As a tutor and coordinator for the SI program at LTH, you will be employed by the LTH administration. You will work closely with those responsible for the SI program and the faculty's SI leaders.
Job Responsibilities
LTH is seeking a tutor/coordinator for the SI program at LTH. The position covers the period 2026-08-17 – 2026-12-18 with an employment rate of 25% of full-time. If there are multiple qualified applicants, the position may be divided into more than one position, with lower employment rates.
Job responsibilities include:
- Together with the SI coordinator, provide SI leader training for LTH students.
- Supervision of groups of SI leaders every other week during the autumn semester.
- Individual follow-up of SI leaders' reflective reports and attendance records after their SI sessions.
- Co-responsible for scheduling SI sessions, including reminders to SI leaders and checking schedule documents.
- Hold individual meetings with SI leaders as needed and be available for SI leaders when they need to copy or obtain supplies such as whiteboard markers, chalk, A3 paper, etc.
- Participate in the planning of SI activities at LTH and assist in informing students and staff about LTH's SI program.
Working hours are scheduled during teaching time, i.e., Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment as a tutor, one must be admitted to a degree program at the undergraduate or graduate level at the faculty. The degree must not have been awarded.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
- You have solid experience as an SI leader.
- You have excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- You are admitted to an LTH program, have good academic results, and are on track with your studies, i.e., you have at least passing grades in all previous courses, with at most one exception.
- You are responsible, flexible, and willing to adapt to the needs of the SI program.
- You find it easy to collaborate with others.
- You are self-driven.
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- You have an interest in pedagogy, group dynamics, and leadership.
Consideration will be given to how the applicant is assessed to complement and strengthen the work within the SI program through their personal qualities, experiences, and competencies, as well as contribute to its future development.

The employment must not negatively affect the tutor's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as a tutor can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
